PROMISE OF RESTORATION
Joel 2: 25 and I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the canker worm, and the caterpillar, and palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. 26: and ye shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord Your God that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
Do we believe the promises of God? If we do, then why are we not living like it? It is important for you know to that the insect listed in Joel chapter 2 is the same insect in four different stages of life! This insect had stripped the land of Israel of everything, leaving the land barren with no hope for the future. An enemy in the form of the locust had destroyed all they had worked for; but a promise was given in Joel 2:21: Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things. I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten. And ye shall eat in plenty and be satisfied.
You might ask how this is possible. Joel 2:12: Turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning. Turn unto the Lord your God!
We know the enemy we fight is not a locust; but just as real, the enemy has come to steal, kill and destroy. Our adversary, the devil as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour.
Satan is one enemy that comes against us in many shapes and forms. What has the enemy stripped from you? Is it your family, your job, your health, your finances, or other things in life that are precious? The promises of God are sure and you can depend on them. Those who endure and wait on the faithfulness of God will be restored.
In 2009, I watched my sister as she was stripped of everything in her life by the enemy of cancer. It left her broken and barren. At the end of her dear life, her face was leathery looking with wrinkles, splotches, and much older than her years. Within 30 minutes after she breathed her last breath, I saw the most beautiful change: no wrinkles, no splotches, and her skin as smooth and beautiful as new born baby. The promise of restoration happened before our eyes and the joy of knowing that even in the face of death, God's promises are true.
